The 2020 Clinton Fall Festival is the latest event to be cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Adrian Daily Telegram reports that it will be the first time in its 47 year history that the annual event will not be held. The festival’s board of directors said in a press release that the decision comes after much consideration and thought, and with great sadness.
The event, as it was scheduled for September 25th through the 27th, would still have been four months away, but organizers say concerns for the safety of some 10,000 daily attendees made the move necessary.
They plan to hold what will now be numbered the 47th annual Clinton Fall Festival on September 24th through the 26th of 2021.
The village-wide event not only celebrates the community, it also raises raises scholarship money for Clinton High School grads, with more than $100,000 in funding raised for C.H.S. seniors since 1999.
