An unnamed 56-year-old is in custody after allegedly assaulting two police officers following reports of reckless driving.
The Adrian Daily Telegram says it happened last week in Bedford Township.
A Monroe County deputy spotted a pickup truck crossing the center line on Summerfield Road — at one point, almost hitting the patrol car.
The driver allegedly threw a beer bottle out of his window after being pulled over, and swung at the deputy during a sobriety test. He then attempted to run off, but the deputy caught up to him and tazed him. The man allegedly kicked another deputy in the knee while being placed in the patrol car.
The suspect faces charges of operating while intoxicated, assault and battery on two police officers, resisting and obstructing, and having open intoxicants in a vehicle.
